Tom Neuwirth is a singer, musician, artist and activist. One of his stage personas is Conchita Wurst. As Conchita Wurst, she won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 and has since inspired millions of people far beyond the German-speaking world. She brings together pop, drama and a remarkable stage presence, exactly the mix the Angel of Death calls for.
The Angel of Death (Todesengel) is one of the most emotional and striking figures of the musical. With Tom Neuwirth, the figure takes on a distinctive, fascinating new dimension.

More than 500,000 people saw Romeo und Julia - Liebe ist alles in Berlin up to the end of February 2026. Now this exceptional guest appearance comes to Düsseldorf and Vienna for the first time.
The role comes with the song „So kalt der Tod“ (So Cold, the Death), one of the emotional peaks of the piece. For the Star Edition, Conchita Wurst recorded her own version of it, moving between art song, drama and pop opera.
